Skiddalz and I had a concert this week and she unveiled some of her newest tracks. Today Skiddalz released the audio to one of those songs, her latest hit “The Phoenix” and once you take a listen you might thank her for writing this track! I was actually in the studio as this song was being recorded and it brought tears to my eyes. The Centralia, Illinois native stated that this is her most favorite song that she has ever recorded and describes it as very personal and meaningful to her. If you know what it feels like to have odds stacked against you, or if you’ve ever felt like you’ve failed at something and felt like giving up, listen to this song, that’s what I do! What do you think of “The Phoenix” show some love below.

Skiddalz is one of the most hard-working and dedicated artists that I have met and I can’t think of a better way to have your hard work pay off than to have MTV premiere not one but two one of your music videos. Last year MTV premiered Skiddalz’s video “OMG” on their website, and this past Saturday MTV debuted “Pop Magic” the latest video from Skiddalz on their website. If the song “Pop Magic” sounds familiar that’s because you may have heard it on MTV’s Jersey Shore. Skiddalz has also had her music featured on MTV’s Disaster Date, The Pauly D Project, and has a track on the Restore The Shore compilation. The video features cameos from some of STL’s hottest artists including Nick “WhiteOut” Menn, Yak Boy Fresh, A-Game, Slo Down, DJ Daddy J, and myself. If you’re feelin’ the track make sure you catch Skiddalz rocking live alongside yours truly February 14th at Plush in downtown St. Louis. For more information on the event click here. Do you ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes during a video shoot? Here is proof of what goes down when you get a bunch of rappers together in one room for too long. During filming for her new video “Pop Magic” Skiddalz, WhiteOut, and Yak Boy Fresh got together and did this freestyle and luckily the director was on hand to capture this moment on film. A-Game spit some bars in the beginning of the freestyle, unfortunately the filming started right after that, but I was there and I promise you it was dope! I’m glad I got to witness the freestyle and even more happy that I get to share it with all of you. What do you think of the video? Show some love below.
